BrainPower Charts
BrainPower is how humanity thrives, how a country thrives, a state thrives, how each of us – individually – thrive.
-
Electron BrainPower is the product of Personal Power, in dollars, times the Individual Brains behind it, measured by IQ.
-
Nucleon BrainPower is the product of Institutional Power, in dollars, times the Executive Brains behind it, measured by IQ
Total BrainPower measures the health & wealth of an economy.
The graphs & charts on this page show Total BrainPower for the California Energy Economy, along with its factors of Brains & Power.
Brains X Power = BrainPower
BrainPower is denominated in S$ — SmartDollars.
Left, Right & Center
Each graph compares three scenarios: Left, Right & Center.
-
Left is C25 on the Burkean Gridiron, i.e., an energy economy that's 75% centrally controlled, aka Strong cCon.
-
Center is midfield on the Burkean Gridiron, i.e., an energy economy that's 50% centrally controlled, aka Moderate cCon.
-
Right is D25 on the Burkean Gridiron, i.e., an energy economy that's merely 25% centrally controlled, aka Moderate dCon.
NOTE: These graphs and the model behind them are 1.0 in maturity. Hence, they are generally correct, yet precisely wrong. Fork it, break it, extend it—tag @DavidBurkean on X.
Total BrainPower
California Energy Economy

The above graph shows how California would grow more prosperous from our energy economy by moving right, from cCon to dCon, benefiting more Californians with lower utility bills, lower prices at the pump, glorious gas stoves and more of what makes life golden.
Energy isn’t everything, yet underlays most things, which is why an Energy Economy was chosen as a target universe for this initial Burkean Economics analysis. California's Energy Economy became the first target because Burkean Economics is a California creation, yet even more because the Golden State's Economy is huge yet coherent: i.e., the California Energy Economy is big enough but not too big.
dCon mechanisms such as lower gas taxes, lower utility taxes and the elimination of anti-carbon policies will produce dramatically more wealth for the Golden State: as much as S$4 trillion, or 29% more—from S$16 trillion on the cCon Left up to S$20 trillion on the dCon Right. That bonus stems from lower utility bills, cheaper gas, bigger bonuses, larger dividends and more alpha from the stock market.
This jump in BrainPower is more than an economic metric: It is the Burkean translation of ‘liberty’ into a measurable human outcome.
Total BrainPower by Class Contribution
Here are those same BrainPower columns, now striped by the four Burkean classes: Electrons & three forms of Nucleons.

The dramatic wealth increase from left to right comes from Electrons & Providers, who together form the Private Sector, absent non-profit providers like public schools. Wealth increases as GovNukes and SinSayers shrink, allowing the Private Sector to thrive.
Notice that the three classes of Nucleons total roughly the same Smart Dollars across the board, albeit their separate amounts change. Electrons sit on that base of Nucleons, languishing on a cCon base of Nucleons, thriving on a dCon base of Nucleons.
Burkean Classes model reality.
They stand in stark contrast to the derangement of Marxist Classes.
Read about Burkean Classes next and then reflect on how they score in the graphs.

Electrons & Nucleons side-by-side
Total Electron BrainPower grows sharply moving from left to right, from cCon to dCon. This iteration of the Bcon model focuses on the California Energy Economy, so the Electron BrainPower pictured here is limited to Californians as Consumers of Energy, buying energy from PG&E, Chevron and more, plus having cars, trucks, stoves, air conditioning, and so many other energy consumption devices. It doesn't reflect their/our income—albeit partial income effects can be inferred from the cCon to dCon growth of Providers.
Providers provide Electrons with more than just goods and services. They provide jobs, income and investment opportunities. Hence, the growth of Providers imputes greater income to Electrons.
As noted above and seen clearly here, Nucleons as a group stay fairly static in Total BrainPower, yet class sizes change considerably. The stultifying effects of GovNukes get minimized on the right, even as SinSayers return to the Bible and Climate Dogma loses purchase.
Happily, Providers grow dramatically, offering manifold choice and prosperity for the Electrons they serve, employ and pay.

Electrons' Total BrainPower triples when moving right from cCon to dCon; Providers' Total BrainPower almost quadruples.
Conversely, GovNukes' Total BrainPower drops by two-thirds and SinSayers' Total BrainPower drops by four-fifths.

Total Brains
Electrons vastly outnumber Nucleons, which is why the Total IQ of Electrons vastly outstrips that of Nucleons. This is so even though Electrons are, on average, less intelligent than the brainiacs running Nucleons. See below for how Nucleon IQ is calculated. (Spoiler Alert: A Nucleon's IQ is based on the Total IQ of its Top Executives, not its multitudinous staff.)
Total IQ for Electrons is so much greater than that of Nucleons that it can only be graphed using a logarithmic scale—which masks the growth. For instance, Electrons as a class employ triple the Total IQ in dCon versus dCon.

Total Class IQs & Electron IQ Throttling
These graphs juxtapose three scenarios: Left, Right & Center differ in how Decision Control is distributed.
-
Left is C25 on the Burkean Gridiron, i.e., an energy economy that's 75% centrally controlled, aka Strong cCon.
The model handles this by Electron IQ Throttling, where individuals' personal control is 75% throttled. -
Center is midfield on the Burkean Gridiron, i.e., an energy economy that's 50% centrally controlled, aka Moderate cCon.
The model handles this by Electron IQ Throttling, where individuals' personal control is 50% throttled. -
Right is D25 on the Burkean Gridiron, i.e., an energy economy that's merely 25% centrally controlled, aka Moderate dCon.
The model handles this by Electron IQ Throttling, where individuals' personal control is 25% throttled.

GovNukes & SinSayers' Total IQ dramatically decreases from cCon to dCon, enabling Providers' Total IQ to skyrocket.

Nucleon Brains
A Nucleon's IQ derives from its Top Executives Total IQ since they drive its strategy. Its multitudinous staff execute tactically, so their brains aren't included in the what can thought of as the Nucleon's strategic IQ.
This table shows that the current Bcon model for the California Energy Economy assumes 10 to 12 top execs per Nucleon. Those execs are increasingly AI-aided, so their AI Enhanced IQ ranges from 150 up to almost 400.
For example, on the Left, the average GovNuke involved in the California Energy Economy has 10 top execs, each with an AI Enhanced IQ of 150, giving that GovNuke a total IQ of 1,500. Assuming the energy-use decisions of each Electron in California is impinged by 14 GovNukes with power over energy-related policy, those 14 GovNukes have a Total IQ of 21,000.
This table obviously holds key independent variables: Top Execs Per Entity, AI Enhanced IQ Per Exec, and nucleon Population Per Electron. Further usage of the model should test differing values for these Independent Variables.

Power & Populations
California households spend roughly $6.4K a year on energy, transportation & food logistics. Electron Power per capita is thus fixed at $6.4K, a power level monumentally outclassed by the per capita power of Nucleons, especially by the State, let alone the Feds, each comprised of many massive GovNukes. You can’t fight City Hall, indeed.
While Electron power stays fixed, the move rightward assumes Electrons gain more control, as modeled above in Electron Throttling.
Thus, the move from the cCon Left to the dCon Right doesn’t assume any change to the fixed reality of Electron Power. Rather, it assumes that Electrons gain more control over their personal power, as seen above in Electron Throttling. Concurrently, it assumes major changes to the power & population of Nucleons: reducing the per capita power & relative population of GovNukes & SinSayers, increasing the per capita power & relative population of Providers.
That change in the distribution of control unleashes the vast increase in BrainPower atop this page.

Power
Electron per capita Power remains fixed across Left, Right & Center, as noted above.
However, nucleon per capita Power changes dramatically across those regimes.
-
GovNukes get individually less powerful.
-
Providers get individually more powerful from cCon to Center—but less so in dCon, as competition grows. See the Population graphs below for evidence of that increased competition.
-
SinSayers get individually less powerful.

Populations
California has roughly 14 million households, aka Electrons. That stays the same across Left, Right & Center.
Nucleon populations are counted relative to each Electron because Bcon centers on Electrons; Everything is from the Electron's POV. For instance, it doesn't matter how many utility companies operate in California; Each Electron must use PG&E, Southern California Edison or their ilk. Hence, there's typically only one utility/provider per Electron.
-
GovNukes per Electron get fewer from Left to Right, and less individually powerful, as seen directly above.
-
Providers per Electron decrease some from cCon to Center, and then increase with dCon, as competition and choice grows. See the Power graphs above for evidence of that dCon moderation in their per capita Power.
-
SinSayers per Electron decrease dramatically and get individually less powerful, as seen above.

MODEL NOTES ON POWER & POPULATIONS:
-
Electrons: Energy Spending per California Household is estimated at $6,378 based on this Grok analysis. This is a 2023 baseline; update for inflation.
-
Nucleons: Nucleon Power and Population relative to Electron Power and Population are key independent variables. Future iterations and analyses will inevitably tune the settings of those independent variables in the Bcon Model.
Formula & Units
tBP Formula
tBP = PSP
tBP = P x S(c) x P(f)
Total Brainpower(ΣClasses) = (Class Population, i.e., particle count) x (Class Smartness: Average IQ) x Average Power (Financial, Legal, Familial, Regulatory, Monetary)
Total BrainPower = tBP
Smart Dollars = S$
Smart Dollars are the UOM for tBP.
Smart Dollars measure the product of financial power times the IQ behind it.
The California Energy Economy can produce a low of S$16 trillion to a high of S$20 trillion, from the Left & Right respectively.
On the Left, cCon sucks California dry, producing a quarter less S$ as dCon.
On the Right, dCon pumps California full of money and freedom, producing almost much more S$ as cCon, to its Left.
