The Venezuela Model

While most everyone else is still traumatized by the forever-wars of Afghanistan & Iraq, President Donald J. Trump is not only not traumatized, he was never traumatized because he was early to reject them. In fact, he was typically Trumpian in his denunciation of how those Forever Wars were prosecuted, especially the Afghan War.
Repudiated Congresswoman Liz Cheney hates him so much for that she jumped in bed with the Democrats, a thoroughly corrupted lot. Of course she did. She’s the nepo-baby scion of Dick Cheney, the driving force behind America’s old way of doing Regime Change.
Changed Approach to Regime Change
DJT is the ultimate heterodox thinker. He is literally unburdened by what has been. (Ironic, that.) He’s the most canny man who ever lived and the greatest Chief Executive in organizational history.
Hence, he recognized that the way to do regime change is simply to do regime change, and then hold the new boss to America’s reasonable demands. If the new boss doesn’t play ball, she’s gets dead or gone. Simple.
The Venezuela Model 1.0
This is all playing out perfectly in Venezuela, two months after removing the dictator Maduro and his malign wife. Our boots-on-the-ground time in Caracas was shorter than a single episode of Seinfeld.
Some 65 days later, Venezuela's transformation under the new interim leadership has been swift and impressive, showcasing the effectiveness of the Trump approach.
Hundreds of Political Prisoners Freed
This was highlighted by the emotional reunion of opposition leader Enrique Márquez with his niece during President Trump's State of the Union address on February 25, 2026. As of late February, over 540 political prisoners have been released under a new amnesty law, with thousands more applications processed.
The closure and planned conversion of notorious political prisons like El Helicoide into sports and cultural centers, symbolizes an end to years of repression.
A surge in oil exports to the United States
Venezualan oil exports reached an average of 205,000 barrels per day in February 2026 alone, as part of a U.S.-supervised deal that's already generated billions in sales and is helping stabilize global energy markets. Adding to the momentum, DJT recently visited Corpus Christi, Texas, standing right in front of a massive tanker loaded with Venezuelan crude. He proudly pointed to it, declaring, “360,000 barrels of Venezuelan crude are right now sitting in the tanker on my left. It’s a nice one,” while touting the rapid flow of oil making life more affordable for Americans and highlighting his energy turnaround.
American Airlines resuming direct flights from Miami to Venezuala
MIA to Caracas and Maracaibo was approved on March 4 by the U.S. DoT. Service is expected to launch by April—reconnecting families and boosting travel and trade.
Chevron Already Gushing Venezuelan Oil
Chevron has already achieved robust production levels of around 250,000 barrels per day in Venezuela, with plans to increase output by 50% (to 375,000 bpd) within 18-24 months, marking a return to record highs post-sanctions and contributing significantly to the country's total output.
Cabinet Secretaries On Venezuelan Ground
These developments were underscored in recent interviews by U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright and Interior Secretary Doug Burgum during their visits to Venezuela. Secretary Wright, touring oil facilities in February 2026, described cooperation with interim President Delcy Rodríguez as "off to a tremendous start," emphasizing rapid progress in overhauling the energy sector. Secretary Burgum, in March 2026, highlighted discussions on expanding U.S. access to oil, mining, and critical minerals, noting that ties are advancing at "Trump speed" to ensure energy abundance and lower costs for Americans.
The V Model 2.0
The GOAT POTUS will employ the V Model to his impending reclamation projects: Iran & Cuba.
Iran is much larger, Cuba smaller, yet the model will work once a new and cooperative President is in place. That President’s job will be to make sure that political repression stops, while the economy starts and is run competently, along with other elements of civil society, like water, power & energy. They also must make sure that the oil & gas bounty of the country is properly produced and sold, at market rate and paid for in greenbacks, thereby strengthening the dollar and harming China's currency play.
Lastly, they must put the country on a path to nationwide elections in a year. (That last is best for the opposition, like Nobel Laureate María Corina Machado, since they will be able to craft their campaigns without getting dragged down by governing out of the cCon pit dug by the former government.)
Do that and everybody is happy because all boats will rise. Don’t do that and get dead or gone.
Boots on the ground are unnecessary soon as you get a credible President who plays ball. DJT knows how to orchestrate that game and pick players. Consider Delcy Rodriguez as Exhibit A. It's a good bet that Reza Pahlavi, the Crown Prince of Iran, will be Exhibit B.
The V Model is the Golden Model for Regime Change
The V Model operates on Trump Time: lightning to start, quick to instantiate, quick cash-flow to follow.
The V Model is the polar opposite of the Forever War model.
The V Model is extensible and scalable. Iran and Cuba are soon to be Exhibits B & C.
